A fun album for learning to count forwards and backwards with the magic and humor of the extraordinary Maurice Sendak.

Mino advances, bows, shows his empty top hat, and, magically, with a touch of his wand, one rabbit appears, then another, and another... The first few amuse him, and he even boasts of his artistic mastery, but the more rabbits he pulls from his hat, the more his discomfort grows: restless and rebellious, these long-eared animals jump on his head, sneak between his legs, and even cover him completely. Maurice Sendak's "Ten Rabbits" is a visual story that, with minimal narrative support, encourages counting from one to ten in ascending and descending order, as well as learning the written form of numbers.

Thus, after the tenth rabbit, the magician Mino makes them disappear one by one, expressing his displeasure with a trick that got out of hand and gradually regaining his smile as the subtraction progresses.

Humor is the main quality of this work published in Spain in 2024, twelve years after the author's death. Except for the blue, ocher, and gray tones that color the rabbits, black and white predominate. It also stands out for expressively showing the wide range of emotions
—from initial presumption to subsequent despair and helplessness— experienced by the main character. Precisely, the child in this story —Sendak's own alter ego— identifies with the protagonists of "Where the Wild Things Are," "In the Night Kitchen," "One Was John," "Chicken Soup with Rice," or "Pierre, a Cautionary Tale."
