Tambo is tired of always being the smallest. After all, he's an elephant. He'll show everyone he's grown up. He'll scare off a tiger! With his friend, the bird, he prepares for the test of courage. But no one comes, not even the tiger. With his ears down, Tambo walks sadly through the jungle in the middle of the night, back to the herd. All the big elephants are there. And there's his mom. Big and grey, and loving as always. Next to her is Tambo's newborn little sister. Then he feels right down to the tip of his trunk how good it feels to be waited for and needed as a big brother. And he thinks it's wonderful that his sister is the smallest in the herd.
