A fisherman and his wife live in a pot by the sea. One day the man catches a fish that speaks to him and begs him to set it free. The fisherman gladly does so.

When he returns home, his wife tells him that it must have been a wish-granting fish, so the fisherman goes back to the sea to find it and asks it to grant him a bigger house.

And, as the fisherman asks the fish for more and more things, his desire grows larger and larger until his ambition reaches its limit.
