Gisela is a crystal child: luminous, fragile, and transparent from head to toe. She reflects the objects around her and changes hue with the light of the seasons. She is so exceptional that people come from all over the world to see her. But little Gisela has another peculiarity: on her clear forehead, her thoughts, good and bad, can be read like an open book. As she grows up, this particularity becomes harder to bear. Some of her reflections, especially when she is sad and dejected, make people angry and, for some, are unbearable. For this reason, Gisela leaves in search of a home, traveling from one place to another, until one day she discovers that, like truth, in addition to being luminous, she must be brave.

This is one of Beatrice Alemagna's very first works, published in France in 2002, and until now unpublished in Spanish. A beautiful book, illustrated with different techniques such as collage, pencil, and the use of layers and transparencies, it invites both a literal and metaphorical reading. Of her creative process, the author has said: "I love mixtures and hybrids. I love avoiding walls or barriers. I love not worrying about age limits, time limits, precise aesthetic rules, pre-established conventions [...]. All this comes from great self-confidence. I always work with something from within, something strong that expresses itself clearly and intensely."
