Majo is a very ugly rhinoceros, according to the other animals in the jungle and his own opinion. He decides to leave his home and seek out the land of humans. Along the way, he encounters other animals who offer him various objects in exchange for money, which they claim will "beautify" him. Thus, with a girdle, gaiters, a bow, glasses, a hat, and a mustache, he arrives at the "Land of Men." However, he is met with a thunderous laugh until a girl strips Majo of everything that doesn't belong on his body and presents him as he is: a beautiful specimen of a rhinoceros.
